With our new puppy, we decided that nails on our wood floor wasn't what we wanted. Understanding that this adjustment period would take time, our little one is doing great adjusting to the vibration on his nails. We've been working with him for 2 weeks so far and I'm able to grind all 4 paws and trim some of the hair between the pads on his feet. I'm so happy we bought this.

I love the quiet sounds emanating from this nail and paw trimmer. I used it first to trim my own nails! It has two speeds, both of which function well. I had smooth nails and it was easy to control. The hair trimmers also are quiet and not scary. The kit included a power cord, a brush for cleaning, some oil, the trimmer and nail grinder and two trimmer heads (one for hair, one for feet). It was packaged in a rather flimsy box but I will keep it in a zipper bag so I don't lose any of the pieces.
My dogs are not accustomed to a grinder so I'm going to acclimate them to it by using treats and praise. First, when it is off and laying on the ground in front of it, we'll practice "Touch" and give them a yummy treat (I bought some turkey bologna and cut it into tiny pieces.) We'll do that about 5 times during the day. Then the next day, I'll touch their paws with it, while it is still off, and give them a treat. for another 5 times. After they are comfortable with it being off, then we'll turn it on and start practicing again. I feel certain that in a week we'll be trimming their nails nicely and the hair in their feet. It may take a while (I have Lhasa Apsos) but this trimmer should be great.

After many review & comparison, I purchased this product for our 20 month old, 29 pounds of mini goldendoodle. My main purpose is to trim her hair around & underneath her 4 paws. I am using it whenever it is possible and a little longer of time every time in order to have my dog get used to it because she is so sensitive on someone touching her paws. Very easy to use around her rear end area. I have no chance to use the nail trimmer yet.

Great for trimming fur around paws.
I actually bought this more to trim the fur around my shorkies paws, as I can't really get them with the larger clippers I have, and scissors freak him out. These work great for that! If anything, i have to be careful not to trim too close. Not because it hurts him, just because it is so easy to get a close trim compared to my other clippers, he nearly ended up with a little bald spot. Definitely worth the money for this feature. I will update if he lets me grind his nails.
